ANNVILLE, Pa. (Women's Soccer) – The Misericordia Cougars were selected as the favorite in the 2022 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) women's soccer coaches. The Cougars collected first-place votes from all eight opposing coaches for a total of 64 points.

In 2021, Misericordia claimed their seventh MAC Freedom title after defeating Stevens 1-0. Defender Zoe Farr was named the MAC Freedom Championship Most Valuable Player (MVP) after leading a Cougar defense to their 12th shutout of the season.
Misericordia advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament where they fell to William Smith in double overtime 5-4. The Cougars finished with a 20-2 overall record and a perfect 8-0 in conference play.
The United Soccer Coaches announced the 2022 preseason poll on August 2 ranking Misericordia seventh.
The 2022 season is set to begin on Thursday, September 1. Conference play will begin on Saturday, October 1 with a five-week eight-game schedule.
The 2022 MAC Freedom Women's Soccer Championship is set for October 31 to November 5. The top-five seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
