York College Named Favorite in MAC Commonwealth Softball Coaches’ Preseason Poll

The Spartans collected four first-place votes for a total of 46 points.

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Softball) - The York College Spartans were selected as the favorite in the 2024 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth softball coaches. The Spartans collected four first-place votes from opposing coaches for a total of 46 points. Messiah followed with three first-place votes, while Eastern received one.

In 2023, York claimed the third seed with a 11-5 conference record. Messiah claimed the second seed, while Lebanon Valley claimed the first. York captured its second MAC Commonwealth title after a sweep over number one Lebanon Valley.

The Spartans season ended in game four of the NCAA Regionals with a 0-7 loss to Misericordia. 

The 2024 season is set to begin Saturday, Feb. 17. Conference play will begin on Saturday, March 16.

The 2024 MAC Commonwealth Softball Championship is set for May 2-4. The top-four seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
