NEWTOWN, Pa. (Conference News) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its conference weekly award recipients for the week ending October 27, 2024. A total of 23 student-athletes were recognized for performances from Oct. 21, 2024 to Oct. 27, 2024.
CROSS COUNTRY (#MACxc)
MAC Men’s Runner of the Week
Liam Allen (Lebanon Valley / So. / Hanover, Pa.) ran a career-best 8,000-meter time of 26:46.3 to win the Last Chance Run Fast Invitational on Friday and lead the Dutchmen to their second home invitational title of the year with another dominating performance placing six in the top 10. LVC scored 27 points to defeat second-place and Division I Mount St. Mary's who finished with 68 points.
MAC Women’s Runner of the Week
Hailey Shreffler (Eastern / Sr. / Nesquehoning, Pa.) recorded her best time of the season with a third place finish at the LVC Last Chance Run Fast this past Saturday in Lebanon. The senior crossed the finish line in 23:44.8, finishing behind a pair of D1 runners, and helped the Eagles place second out of five scoring teams.
FIELD HOCKEY (#MACfh)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Tori Heiserman (York / So., F / Willow Street, Pa.) had another big week as she led the Spartans to a pair of MAC Commonwealth wins. In Wednesday's win at Alvernia, Heiserman scored her seventh goal of the year off a feed from senior Riley Buschert. The goal was her fourth in three games as the Spartans evened their conference mark at 2-2. She followed that with a pair of assists in the home win over Albright on Saturday. Heiserman assisted Hannah Downs on York's second and fourth goals of the game. The assists were her first two collegiate assists. For the year, Heiserman has 16 points on seven goals and two assists. She has scored ten of her 16 points in the last four games for York.
MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Belle Fields (York / Sr., GK / Centreville, Md.) led the #9 Spartans to a pair of MAC Commonwealth wins for the week as York improves to 12-5 overall. Fields began the week by leading York to a 3-1 road win at Alvernia on Wednesday. She allowed a goal on a penalty stroke in the third quarter but kept the Golden Wolves off the board the rest of the match. In the win, Fields became the Spartans' all-time leader in goalie wins with her 42nd career victory for the Green and White. In the shutout win over Albright, Fields made a pair of stops to pick up her school record 26th shutout of her career. For the season, Fields owns a 0.68 goals against average and a 0.855 save percentage with a career-high 71 saves this season. Fields is first in the Commonwealth in goals against average, save percentage and shutouts.
MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Morgan McEntire (Arcadia / Sr., M / Bath, Pa.) picked up three goals this week in Arcadia's two wins against conference opponents. McEntire had the game tying goal in the fourth quarter against conference opponent Stevens. The Knights then went on to defeat Stevens 4-2. McEntire picked up two more goals this past weekend against King's where the Knights took the 4-0 win. Arcadia was the first MAC Freedom team to clinch a spot into playoffs after these two wins.
MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Alyssa Schlossman (DeSales / So., GK / Stroudsburg, Pa.) had a strong week in goal helping DeSales post a 2-0 record with back-to-back 3-2 wins. She made 17 saves in the 3-2 win over Lebanon Valley and followed that performance up with seven saves in the win at Delaware Valley on Saturday totaling 24 saves in the two games for the week.
FOOTBALL (#MACfb)
MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Russell Minor-Shaw (King’s / Sr., QB / Radnor, Pa.) had a career day as he led the King's College football team to an important 42-35 win on the road at FDU-Florham to remain unbeaten in MAC play. He threw for a single-game best 288 yards, completing 16 passes on 22 attempts (72.7%) with five passing touchdowns. He also ran for 48 yards and a touchdown as the senior had a hand in all six touchdowns scored in the win.
MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Jalen Walker (Widener / Sr., DL / Mount Laurel, N.J.) and the Pride gave the defense a sack field day in a 34-24 homecoming win over Alvernia. Walker contributed to the Pride's 10 total sacks with four of his own for 23 yards to mark a new season high. He would also have a quarterback hurry up and five tackles to slow the attacking Golden Wolves.
MAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Tim Kissinger (Lebanon Valley / Sr., K / Mechanicsburg, Pa.) was a perfect 4-4 on kicks in a 20-9 victory at Misericordia on Saturday. The senior made both of his extra point attempts and both of his field goal attempts. He made a 35-yard field goal in the second quarter as well as a 22-yard attempt in the third quarter.

MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Ethan Pfau (Eastern / So., F / Exton, Pa.) accounted for three of Eastern Men's Soccer's five goals in a 1-0-1 week. The Exton native scored a pair of goals off the bench in Eastern's 2-2 draw with Stevenson on Wednesday, which included the game-tying tally off a header to the back post in the 71st minute. On Saturday in Eastern's 3-1 triumph over Alvernia, the sophomore headed in his third goal of the week off a restart into the upper right corner of the net. After scoring just two goals in the Eagles' first 12 matches, Pfau now has five in the last three.
MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Jake Bono (York / So., GK / Marlboro, N.J.) led the Spartans to another strong week as York went 1-0-1 against a pair of MAC Commonwealth opponents. In Wednesday's 1-1 tie with Widener, Bono made four saves allowing the Spartans to earn the point with the tie. He recorded a pair of second half saves including two point-blank saves against the Pride. On Saturday, Bono registered one save without allowing a goal in the opening 77:20 of the road win over Albright. For the season, Bono is 10-1-4 with a 0.82 goals against average and a .810 save percentage. He has three full shutouts and has been a part of three other clean sheets for York. Bono is first in the Commonwealth in goals against average and first in save percentage.
MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
JohnPaul Mazza (DeSales / Fy., F / Hammonton, N.J.) scored two goals helping DeSales post a 1-0-1 record last week. Both his goals came in the 3-2 road win at FDU-Florham and were the first two goals of the season for Mazza.
MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Santino Jannotte (Misericordia / So., GK / Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) had seven saves in a pair of road shutouts in a 1-0-1 week. Made one save in a last-second win at Delaware Valley. Made six saves in a 0-0 draw at DeSales. Made back-to-back saves, including a diving stop, in the 70th minute to preserve the shutout.
WOMEN’S SOCCER (#MACsoc)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Adrianna Escobar (Hood / So., F / Germantown, Md.) finishes the week with two game winners and an assist on the 2-0 week for Hood. On the road against Albright netted her first goal of the season to put the Blazers up and they never looked back in the 2-0 win. Then Escobar struck early in the home match against Widener with another goal along with dishing an assist to add to her contributions in the 4-0 win. Escobar's physical play right at the box allows the Blazers to gain numbers offensively and heat up their offense.
MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Brenna Ellenberger (Hood / Sr., GK / Baltimore, Md.) even as the Blazers continue conference play produces two shutouts and 10 saves with a 2-0 record on the week. Ellenberger made five saves on the 2-0 win on the road to Albright while making five more goal-saving saves in the 4-0 win at home against Widener.
MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Ashley Dietrich (FDU-Florham / Sr., F / Middletown, N.J.) helped lift the Devils over the Monarchs for the 3-0 shutout win. In the midweek match against DeSales, she was responsible for the Devils only goal as six shots to even the score against the Bulldogs and gave a focused effort with two shots against King's. Despite ranking fifth in the MAC Freedom for most points this season, she surpassed the mark of 100 career points over the weekend. She can also be seen in second in assists with seven total and an average of .389% per game. The senior sits one shot behind her teammate in the MAC Freedom as well (76).
MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Ava Gianni (FDU-Florham / Jr., GK / North Brunswick, N.J.) put together seven total saves against DeSales and King's (Pa). A total of 16 shots were taken in her direction and only allowed two to get by, resulting in a 3-0 shutout over the Monarchs.
MEN’S SWIMMING (#MACswim)
MAC Swimmer of the Week
Brenden Stuhltrager (York / So. / Lititz, Pa.) led the Spartan men to a big win over Ursinus in the Spartan home opener on Saturday. Stuhltrager captured two more individual wins as he now has four individual wins in two meets for the year. Stuhltrager won the 50 free with a time of 21.16, the top time in the event so far in the MAC this season. He then captured victory in the 100 fly with a time of 51.01. That time is also the top time in the MAC for the event. His 100 fly time is 2.33 seconds faster than the next swimmer in the MAC.He was also the third leg of the winning 400 free relay team as they recorded a time of 3:10.19. That is the top time in the MAC by almost eight seconds.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING (#MACswim)
MAC Swimmer of the Week
Annika Doutrich (York / Fy. / Womelsdorf, Md.) picked up a pair of wins in the Spartans home opener on Saturday against Ursinus. Doutrich won the 200 free as she touched the wall in a time of 2:00.07. She also recorded a win in the 500 free with a time of 5:23.29. Doutrich was also the third leg on the winning 400 medley relay team as they combined to post a time of 4:10.59. Doutrich's time in the 200 is the top time in the MAC so far this year. Her time in the 500 is 3.67 seconds better than the next best time in the event. For the year, Doutrich has four individual wins for the Spartans in two duals meets
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL (#MACvb)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Hannah Pringle (Eastern / Jr., OH / East Greenville, Pa.) had another strong week on the outside in Eastern Women's Volleyball's 2-0 week. The junior from East Greenville finished with 37 kills, a .406 hitting percentage, and three blocks in Eastern's victories over Alvernia and Swarthmore. On Friday against the Garnet, Pringle tied her season-high with 24 kills in the five-set thriller. On Wednesday, she finished with 13 kills on 29 swings, good for a .379 hitting percentage, to lead the Eagles in a three-set sweep of the Golden Wolves.
MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Liz Barnes (Widener / Jr., L / Easton, Pa.) and the Pride ended the week with a 2-0 record with a 3-1 win over Albright and a 3-0 against Penn College. Barnes set a career milestone against Albright to earn her 1000th career dig. In the four sets played she would earn 35 digs and in the Penn match she would register 14. Her 35 digs on Wednesday night would be her second highest of the season.
MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week.
Taylor McInerney (Lebanon Valley / Gr., OH / Annville, Pa.) had 44 kills and 4.0 kills per set while becoming just the fifth in program history to reach 1,300 career kills. The outside hitter had a .366 hitting percentage and had two assists, seven digs, and three total blocks for 46 total points and 4.18 points per set during the week. She began the week with 17 points on 16 kills, three digs, and two block assists with an excellent .640 hitting percentage in a 3-0 conference win over King's. McInerney did not record a single attack error in a match-high 25 attacks. She then had 16 kills, three digs, and an assist in a 3-2 defeat at York in the first match of a Saturday tri-match. McInerney finished the week with 12 kills, one assist, one dig, and a solo block in a 3-0 defeat to Bridgewater.
MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Abigail Souder (Lebanon Valley / Sr., L / Collegeville, Pa.) recorded 4.09 digs per set and 45 total digs in three matches for the Dutchmen. The senior also had 13 digs and two aces. Souder began the week with eight digs and seven assists in a 3-0 conference sweep of King's. The libero then tied her season-high of 20 digs and added five assists and two service aces in a 3-2 defeat at York. Souder finished the week with 17 digs and an assist in a 3-0 defeat to Bridgewater.
