MAC Weekly Awards Announcement (September 9, 2024)

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Conference News) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its conference weekly award recipients for the week ending September 8, 2024. A total of 21 student-athletes were recognized for performances from Sep. 2, 2024 to Sep. 8, 2024.

CROSS COUNTRY (#MACxc)
MAC Men’s Runner of the Week

Rory Lieberman (Lebanon Valley / So. / Danville, Pa.) won the Dutchmen Invitational on Saturday in his first race as a Dutchman to lead LVC to the team title in a dominating fashion. The sophomore ran a career-best 8,000-meter time of 25:05.0 to top the field of 188 collegiate runners. He led from start to finish as LVC placed all seven of their scorers in the top 10 to score 21 points in the large field of 17 scoring teams that included two teams that are regionally ranked in the Metro Region. Lieberman won the race by eight seconds with teammate Matthew Santana finishing second.

MAC Women’s Runner of the Week
Emma East (Delaware Valley / So. / Milton, Pa.) led the DelVal women to a first-place finish in the Aggie Open over the weekend. East came in first place in the women's 6K race finishing nearly a minute ahead of the second-place runner with a final time of 26:38.73.

FIELD HOCKEY (#MACfh)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Kelsy McClintock (Alvernia / Fy., F / Littlestown, Pa.) had a nine point week for Alvernia to lead the Golden Wolves to a 2-0 performance on the week. McClintock finished the week with three goals and three assists for Alvernia. In a 5-3 win over Muhlenberg on Wednesday, McClintock scored the game-tying goal and assisted on the go-ahead goal scored by Caroline Martin. She also had an assist on a goal scored by Ava Michael. On Saturday in a 5-1 win over Wilkes, McClintock scored Alvernia’s game-winner in the 36th minute, and added another goal to the scoresheet to cap off the game. She also assisted on a goal by Michael.

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Jordan Vradenburgh (Stevenson / So., GK / Fairless Hills, Pa.) helped the Mustangs to a 2-0 week by pitching two shutouts. On Wednesday at Elizabethtown, she made three saves, including one late in the fourth quarter to preserve Stevenson's 1-0 lead. In Saturday's 3-0 win at Penn State Harrisburg, Vradenburgh had another fourth quarter save to give the Mustangs their fourth straight win and third straight shutout. 

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Sorrell Long (Lebanon Valley / Gr., M / Doylestown, Pa.) had a career day with seven points on three goals and one assist to lead the Dutchmen to a 7-3 victory at Eastern in the team's only game of the week. The midfielder recorded her first career hat trick with two goals in the first half as LVC built a 3-1 halftime lead. Long assisted on the first goal of the game just under two minutes in. She scored her first goal in the ninth minute on her second penalty stroke of the year. The graduate student added goals in the 20th minute and 43rd minute. Long put all five of her shots on goal.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Anna Doblovosky (Arcadia / So., GK / Point Pleasant, N.J.)  collected 16 saves on the Knights 2-1 week. Her efforts pushed the Knights to win two overtime games. In Arcadia's win over nationally ranked Kean she had 10 saves. In the second overtime game against Albright, she tallied one save. In the Knights overtime loss to Scranton, Doblovosky gathered five more saves. 

FOOTBALL (#MACfb)
MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Russell Minor-Shaw (King’s / Sr., QB / Radnor, Pa.) collected his second consecutive Mayor's Cup MVP title for King's as the Monarchs fell, 43-28, in the 28th annual Mayor's Cup game against Wilkes University. The senior connected for 28 completions on 35 attempts for an 80% completion percentage, 255 yards, and three touchdowns. He also finished as the Monarchs' leading rusher at 81 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.

MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Jacquez Mabin (Delaware Valley / Sr., DL / Philadelphia, Pa.) led the DelVal defensive unit to a 41-21 victory over Hampden-Sydney. The senior tallied a team-leading 13 total tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss (54 yards), and a pair of sacks for 47 yards. The pre-season All-American also found the endzone with a scoop and score fumble recovery, at the time boosting the Aggie's lead 27-7 in the third. 

MAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Tim Kissinger (Lebanon Valley / Sr., K / Mechanicsburg, Pa.) broke the school record with a 56-yard field goal in LVC's season opener at Franklin & Marshall. The senior also made an extra-point attempt in the game. Kissinger kicked his school record field goal as time expired in the second quarter to give the Dutchmen some momentum heading into halftime. He broke the previous record of 51 yards by Bob Muir in 1982 and bettered his previous long of 50 that he kicked last year.
 

MEN’S SOCCER (#MACsoc)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Aiden Hall (York / Fy., F / Forest Hill, Md.) had the best day of his young career on Saturday as he tallied two goals, including the game-winner, in the Spartans' 3-1 win over Misericordia in a MAC Crossover contest in York. Hall tallied his first collegiate goal in the 76th minute of the 1-1 contest. He took a long pass into the offensive third, dribbled across the field about five yards beyond the box before squaring up and unleashing a strong shot that found the back of the net for the eventual game winner. Hall waited exactly 65 seconds to get his second Spartan goal as he picked up a loose ball just outside of the box and converted the turnover into a goal for the 3-1 Spartan lead with just over 14 minutes left in regulation. Hall did his damage in 22 minutes of action off the bench for the Green and White. He is tied for the team lead in scoring with his two goals. 

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Dylan Marco (York / So., D / Quakertown, Pa.) powered the Spartans to a pair of positive results for the week as York went 1-0-1. The week began with a 1-1 tie at #4 Washington College on Wednesday. Marco spearheaded a Spartan defensive effort that held the Shoremen to nine shots in the game with just two of those chances being on goal. The Spartan defense allowed just one shot after the Shoremen got the game's first goal in the 64th minute. In Saturday's MAC Crossover win over Misericordia, the Spartans surrendered a first half goal but then locked down the Cougars, allowing the York offense to come back and win the game. The Marco-led defense allowed just six total shots with only three coming on goal. The Spartans conceded just one off-target shot in the second half as they were nearly flawless defensively in the second 45 minutes of play.For the week, the Spartans allowed just five shots on goal and 15 total shots in 180 minutes of play. For the season, the Spartans have allowed just three goals in 360 minutes of play. Marco leads the Spartan field players with 341 total minutes as he has been off the field for a mere 19 minutes for the entire season. 

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Drilon Toska (FDU-Florham / Sr., F / Lincoln Park, N.J.) accounted for 4 out of the 7 Devil goals scored, totaling 8 points. In 153 minutes, the senior took aim at the goalkeeper 15 times and saw 8 on-target shots. In their final game of the week against Marywood, he went 1-1 on penalty kicks to put up the first of two goals in that game. 

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Dalton Fitterling (Lebanon Valley / Gr., GK / Womelsdorf, Pa.) made seven saves and faced 18 shots in a 1-1-0 week for the Dutchmen. The goalkeeper made three saves in a tough 2-0 defeat at Muhlenberg to begin the week where LVC outshot the Mules 17-9. The graduate student then recorded his second clean sheet of the season with four saves in a 2-0 victory over Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday.


WOMEN’S SOCCER (#MACsoc)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Audrey Solt (Albright / So., D / Sinking Spring, Pa.) led the Lions to a 1-0-1 week in the team's first two games of the season. Solt started the week with a 1 goal and 1 assist performance in a 3-1 win over Rosemont. On Saturday, Solt added another assist for her second of the season helping Albright remain unbeaten through two games. Solt is the only Lion to record at least one point in each game this season. 

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Joss Metz (York / Fy., GK / Sparrows Point, Md.) pitched a pair of shutouts as the Spartans improved to 3-0-1 with two wins for the week. In the Wednesday victory over Gettysburg, Metz made a career-high six saves as she earned her second career shutout. The Bullets fired off 11 shots in the game. Against Clarkson on a rainy Saturday, Metz made five saves on five shots in keeping the Golden Knights scoreless in the victory. For the week, Metz had 180 scoreless minutes in goal as she made 11 saves in the two wins. She faced 16 shots for the week in the two Spartan wins. She has not allowed a goal in 281:17 over the last three plus games. 

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Mia Lopez (FDU-Florham / Sr., F / Rockaway, N.J.) scored 2 of the 3 Devils' goals, assisted on the third Devils goal, and accounted for the game-winning goal in their 3-1 victory over William Paterson. Lopez racked up five total points on 10 ten shots, with 6 shots on target in a total of 146 minutes of play. With this, the forward sits third in the MAC Freedom in shots with 3 and a shot-on-goal percentage of .538 on the year over the past 3 games.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week 
Abby Fuchs (Arcadia / Jr., GK / Brick, N.J.) tallied one save in the Knights 1-0 week. Fuchs stopped the lone shot on goal to earn her first victory and shutout of the season over Goucher. Her save percentage was 100% after the week.  

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL (#MACvb)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Sarah Hart (Messiah / So., OH / Marriottsville, Md.) led the Falcons to a 2-1 record over the past week dominating at the net to lead the team in kills in all three games. Against Lancaster Bible College, Hart tallied an astounding 20 kills in the five-set victory over the undefeated Chargers. Over the Messiah Tri-Match, Hart combined for a total of 32 kills. She put together a 17-kill performance against Haverford College, while in the loss had 15 kills against Virginia Wesleyan to round out the week. 

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Zakara Masibo (Stevenson / Fy., MB / Cornwall, N.Y.) emerged from the Mustangs' four-match week with 20 total blocks. She began the week with seven blocks at Gettysburg, then added three and six more blocks against Gallaudet and Arcadia, respectively. In the Mustangs' final match of the weekend, Masibo put up four blocks, three of which were solo. In addition to her 20 blocks, Masibo added 28 kills.

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Allison Reimer (DeSales / Fy., OH / Schnecksville, Pa.) led the DSU offense last week totaling 41 kills in three matches. She had nine kills and added three blocks and 17 digs in the four-set win over Cedar Crest College. Over the weekend she finished with 13 kills, 14 digs, and three blocks vs. Elizabethtown College and added a season-high 19 kills and nine digs in the loss to York College. For the week Reimer hit .174.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week 
Kylie Campbell (DeSales / Fy., L / Chesterton, Ind.) had an outstanding week leading the Bulldogs defense. In three matches, Campbell averaged 5.38 digs per set. She opened the week with 34 digs in a four-set win over Cedar Crest College. Over the weekend she had 18 digs in matches against Elizabethtown College and York College to finish with 70 digs on the week in three matches.
