NEWTOWN, Pa. (Women’s Ice Hockey) – The Wilkes Colonels were selected as the favorite in the 2025-26 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Women’s Ice Hockey Coaches’ Preseason Poll, voted on by the MAC women’s ice hockey coaches. The Colonels collected all seven first-place votes from opposing coaches for 49 points.

The Colonels come off a season where they won the inaugural Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Women's Ice Hockey Championship.
Wilkes posted a 22-5-1 overall record, 18-2-1 in MAC play to finish as the #1 seed. The Colonels would go on to defeat #4 seed Alvernia University and #2 seed Arcadia University en route to the first-ever MAC championship title. Wilkes historic season came to close in the first round of the NCAA tournment, narrowly falling to Colby College.
The 2025-26 season is set to begin on Friday, October 31st with conference play slated to start Friday, November 7th. The 2025-26 MAC Champion will be crowned from a double round-robin regular-season schedule with the semifinals on February 28 and the finals on March 7.
