Colorado Springs, Colo.
– Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey junior Lauren Flynn has been named the NFHCA Region IV Player of the Year, as voted on by the region's coaches, the first such honor for any player in program history.

Flynn is now one of six players (the Players of the Year from the other five regions)  in the running for National Player of the Year honors, where she will seek to add yet another honor to an ever-growing list of postseason accolades that already includes NFHCA First Team All-Region, MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year, ad All-MAC Freedom First Team.

The Hillsborough, N.J native made her presence felt on both ends of the field all season long. Starting all 21 games, she followed a two-assist effort in a win over No. 9 Rowan with a pair of defensive saves, adding an assist in a win over Swarthmore three days later.

After scoring a goal and adding an assist in a win over Eastern, Flynn scored against No. 2 Christopher Newport and added a defensive save against the Captains (Flynn's goal was one of just eight allowed all season by the Captains).

Flynn etched her name in the program record books with a three-assist effort in a win over William Paterson, tying the team's single game record.

In postseason play, Flynn scored in Stevens' MAC Freedom Semifinal win over Lebanon Valley and added an assist in the team's NCAA Tournament battle with Amherst. Defensively, Flynn also helped the Ducks post a shutout win over Misericordia in the conference championship contest.

Flynn will return for her senior season in 2026, looking to help the Ducks claim a fourth straight MAC Freedom crown.
