Eleven student-athletes receive prestigious honor

MAC Senior Scholar-Athlete History

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Academic News) The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Executive Director Megan Morrison announced the 2025 Spring MAC Senior Scholar-Athletes on Friday. A senior student-athlete from each of the 11 spring sports (baseball, men’s and women’s golf, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s outdoor track & field, and men's volleyball) was recognized for their strong academic and athletic prowess.

JACE FETTERMAN
Baseball - Lebanon Valley College

Jace Fetterman (Carlisle, Pa.) was a force at the plate during his career at Lebanon Valley. With a few weeks left in his senior season, the senior catcher has more than 160 career hits, including 24 home runs, and 100-plus career RBIs. He helped lead the Dutchmen to two MAC Commonwealth Championships (2022, 2023), earning All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team honors in both seasons. In 2022, he was also an ABCA and D3baseball.com All-Region Third Team selection.

Academically, Fetterman compiled a 3.85 GPA while in pursuit of his degree in business administration. His success in the classroom placed him on the Dean’s List seven times and the MAC Academic Honor Roll three times. He was honored by College Sports Communicators (CSC) as an Academic All-District selection in 2023 and 2024.

BRETT HERMAN
Men’s Golf - Misericordia University

Brett Herman (Lewisburg, Pa.) put together some impressive outings during his time with the Misericordia golf team. One of the most notable was his runner-up finish at the 2023 MAC Freedom Championship. He recorded a 152 (+8) 36-hole score, earning First Team All-MAC Freedom honors.

Herman majored in sports management and did work towards a MBA. He earned a 3.95 GPA and was a member of both the Dean’s List and MAC Academic Honor Roll.

MCKYLIE BOREMAN
Women’s Golf - Alvernia University
McKylie Boreman (New Cumberland, Pa.) was one of the top golfers in NCAA Division III. She finished the fall 2024 season as the No. 22 ranked golfer in the division and currently sits at No. 54. She was the medalist at the 2024 MAC Women’s Golf Championship, which earned her the title of MAC Women’s Golfer of the Year. Her even-par 72 helped the Golden Wolves win the conference title in the rain-shortened event, qualifying them for the 2024 NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championship. She was an All-Conference performer every year, earning First Team honors in 2021, 2022, and 2024 and Second Team honors in 2023.

The occupational therapy major was also a four-time MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient and was a four-time Academic All-MAC selection. She is on pace to earn her fifth honor this year. She holds a 3.85 GPA at Alvernia.

BRYAN CREAMER
Men’s Lacrosse - Stevens Institute of Technology

Bryan Creamer (Saddle River, N.J.) was a member of three MAC Freedom Championship teams at Stevens and helped the Ducks claim the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MAC Freedom Men’s Lacrosse Championship. He earned All-MAC Freedom honors in both 2023 and 2024, while also being named MAC Freedom Specialist of the Year during both campaigns. Those performances led to USILA All-America recognition, first as an Honorable Mention and then as a Second Team selection.

Creamer also excelled in the classroom, earning a 3.94 GPA while working towards his degree in business and technology. His status as a true student-athlete was recognized by CSC in 2024 as both an Academic All-District and Academic All-America honoree.

EMMA HAGG
Women’s Lacrosse - Messiah University

Emma Hagg (Lititz, Pa.) has been a standout defender since the start of her career with Messiah. During her rookie season, she not only earned All-MAC Commonwealth First Team honors, but was also voted the league’s Rookie of the Year. She continued her strong performance throughout the rest of her career, earning two more All-Conference First Team selections. She was also a two-time IWLCA All-Region selection — Second Team in 2023 and First Team in 2024. She was also a USA Lacrosse Magazine Third Team All-American in 2023.

In addition to her on-field accomplishments, Hagg also earned numerous accolades academically. She earned a 3.97 GPA while studying accounting, granting her a spot on the MAC Academic Honor Roll. She was also a two-time All-MAC Academic Team member. In 2024, CSC recognized her as an Academic All-District honoree. Hagg was an active community member taking a mission trip to Panama, coaching a youth club, and volunteering at camps and clinics on campus.

EMMA WADE
Softball - York College of Pennsylvania

Emma Wade (Hagerstown, Md.) was a serious slugger during her career with York, especially during the 2024 season. During her junior season, the Spartans catcher/infielder set new school single-season records in RBIs (72) and total bases (109). In addition to leading the MAC Commonwealth in those categories, she also bested the league in OPS, home runs, and slugging percentage. Her performance earned her All-MAC Commonwealth First Team honors and the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year award. Her RBI total also led all of NCAA Division III and she was named an NFCA Second Team All-American. Wade earned a conference title in 2023.

Wade also crushed it in the classroom, compiling a 3.88 GPA as she worked towards her degree in civil engineering. She was a three-time MAC Academic Honor Roll member and a three-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete. She also earned a spot on the Academic All-MAC Team, the CSC Academic All-District Team, and the CSC Academic All-America First Team.

VIVEK HARINARAYAN
Men's Tennis - Stevens Institute of Technology

Vivek Harinarayan (Elkton, Md.) has been one of the MAC Freedom’s top players since he arrived on the Stevens campus in the 2022 season. He has been a conference champion in each of his first three seasons and earned major awards in 2022 and 2024. In first-year season he was named MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year and was then selected as the MAC Freedom Player of the Year in 2024.

Harinarayan is expected to complete his degree in biology this May and currently holds a 3.67 GPA. He was an Academic All-MAC selection and was also recognized as a CSC Academic All-District Team member and an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

LYDIA BARBOUR
Women’s Tennis - Misericordia University

Lydia Barbour (Williamsport, Pa.) was a three-time All-MAC Freedom honoree, helping Misericordia to two MAC Freedom title matches. She earned Second Team recognition in both 2022 and 2023, while getting an honorable mention nod in 2024.

Where Barbour truly excelled was in her occupational science program as she holds a near-perfect 3.99 GPA. Her academic performance led to seven Dean’s List honors, plus three times on the MAC Academic Honor Roll. She was also a CSC Academic All-District honoree.

ANDREW MOTT
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field - York College of Pennsylvania

Andrew Mott (Dillsburg, Pa.) established himself as one of the premier throwers in NCAA Division III during his time at York. He holds the Spartans outdoor record in both the shot put and discus, as well as the MAC Championship record in the discus (53.42m). His exceptional performance at the MAC Outdoor Championships earned him six All-MAC honors and four individual titles. He was the MAC Outdoor Individual Champion in discus three times and shot put once. He has qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships twice, earning All-America honors in both the shot put (Second Team) and discus (First Team) in 2024.

The data analytics graduate student has a 3.91 GPA and is a three-time MAC Spring Academic Honor Roll member. He is also a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete and a two-time member of the Spring Academic All-MAC selection. Mott also received CSC Academic All-District honors.

MARIA MUZZARELLI
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field - Widener University

Maria Muzzarelli (Vineland, N.J.) was an All-MAC performer seven times so far in her outdoor track & field career at Widener. She started off with a Third Team selection in 2022 in the 100m, repeating the feat in 2023 before earning First Team recognition in 2024. She was also part of the top 4x100 relay in the past two years. Muzzarelli added two All-MAC Second Team finishes in the 200m dash. Her speed also earned her a spot on the USTFCCCA All-Region Team in 2023.

The team captain is majoring in psychology and pre-physical therapy and earned a 3.99 GPA. Her grades have placed her on the Widener’s Dean’s List and she was honored by the conference both as a four-time MAC Academic Honor Roll member and a 2023 Academic All-MAC Team selection. Muzzarelli also garnered accolades from national organizations as a 2022 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team member and a 2023 CSC Academic All-District recipient. She is also a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma.

JARED PIONTKOWSKI
Men’s Volleyball - Misericordia University

Jared Piontkowski (Nanticoke, Pa.) is one of the most dangerous attackers in NCAA Division III men’s volleyball, ranking fifth in career kills among active DIII members. He was the conference leader in both kills and kills per set this season, helping him earn his second All-MAC First Team selection and fourth All-Conference selection overall. His talent also earned him an AVCA First Team All-America nod and the 2024 Misericordia Wendy’s Athlete of the Year.

Piontkowski is a business administration major with 3.91 GPA expected to graduate this spring. While he hopes to earn a few more academic accolades before leaving Misericordia with his diploma, he has already earned MAC Academic Honor Roll four times and Dean’s List three times. He was also a 2024 Academic All-MAC selection and a 2024 CSC Academic All-American. Piontkowski was also named Misericordia Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2025.
