Williamsburg, Va (May 15, 2025) - Alvernia University completed its second round of the 2025 NCAA DIII Women's Golf Championships Thursday morning after play was suspended yesterday due to severe weather in the area at Kingsmill Resort.
The Golden Wolves finished in 27th place as a team and missed the cut and graduate student McKylie Boreman was two strokes off of the individual cut after an impressive two day total of 151 (+7).
Boreman began her day on the tenth tee and fired in an opening hole birdie after a 15 foot birdie putt found the bottom of the cup. Boreman then tallied six pars and two bogeys in her final eight holes of the second round including a two putt par on 18 to close out her historic collegiate career for the Golden Wolves. Boreman recorded a round of 77 on day two and finished the tournament seven over with a total of 151. Boreman was also selected as an First Team All-Region player for the East Region as announced by the Women's Collegiate Golf Association last night.
Katie Lapinsky also fired in a day two score of 77 and started her day on the tenth green. Lapinsky rattled off five pars on the back nine and rolled in a 25 foot birdie putt on the par five 15th. Lapinksy also recorded a par on the 18th green to close out her impressive Alvernia career and finished the tournament with a two day total of 157 after recording an 80 yesterday.
Cassidy Miksich carded the low round for Alvernia in round two with a 76 after a strong front nine yesterday. Miksich recorded five pars on the back nine and posted a 39 after an even par 37 yesterday on the front nine. Miksich recorded a two day total of 162 at the championships.
Rylee Stenzel recorded a round two score of 86 for the Golden Wolves and finished with a two-day total of 176. Stenzel recorded three pars on the back nine including a par on the tough par three 17th along the James River to end her second round.
Emmerson Bartley recorded a round two score of 90 on Thursday and finished with a two-day total of 175. Bartley recorded a birdie on 12 but saw bogeys and big numbers plague her back nine as she closed out her championship.
The Championships end the season for the Golden Wolves after back to back MAC Championships and consecutive appearances at the NCAA Championships.
