NEWTOWN, Pa. (Conference News) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) is proud to announce its four NCAA Woman of the Year conference nominees, including Widener's Maria Muzzarelli, Arcadia's Karah White, Hood's Rebecca Gottleib and Misericordia's Julia Beck.
 
Muzzarelli and White will move forward as the MAC nominee, Gottleib will represent the MAC Commonwealth and Beck will represent the MAC Freedom.

Maria Muzzarelli – Widener Track & Field (MAC)
Muzzarelli was an All-MAC performer seven times so far in her outdoor track & field career at Widener. She started off with a Third Team selection in 2022 in the 100m, repeating the feat in 2023 before earning First Team recognition in 2024. She was also part of the top 4x100 relay in the past two years. Muzzarelli added two All-MAC Second Team finishes in the 200m dash. Her speed also earned her a spot on the USTFCCCA All-Region Team in 2023.
The team captain is majoring in psychology and pre-physical therapy and earned a 3.99 GPA. Her grades have placed her on the Widener’s Dean’s List and she was honored by the conference both as a four-time MAC Academic Honor Roll member and a 2023 Academic All-MAC Team selection. Muzzarelli also garnered accolades from national organizations as a 2022 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team member and a 2023 CSC Academic All-District recipient. She is also a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma.
 
Karah White – Arcadia Ice Hockey (MAC)
White put an exclamation mark on a stellar career with Arcadia by becoming the program’s first CCM/AHCA All-American this year as she was named to the organization’s Third Team. The award was the latest honor for the Knights skater as she had been named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year a year before.
White also displays leadership off the ice as the President of the Knights of Color Council. She is completing her degree in biology and has a 3.38 GPA. Her academic performance earned her Academic All-MAC recognition. The Akwesasne-native is also a member of Arcadia’s women’s golf team. 
 
Rebecca Gottleib – Hood Softball (MAC Commonwealth)
The two-way player Gottleib earned NFCA All-Region First Team Honors and landed on the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth First Team while leading the Blazers to their first postseason win since 2017. She landed in the Top 10 in almost every conference offensive category and led in walks with her .412/.667/.677 slash line and totaled 15 complete games and over 100 strikeouts in the circle during her senior season. Gottlieb is a four-time All-MAC Commonwealth selection and two-time all-region honoree.
 
The Accounting major with a minor in mathematics flexed her brain muscles finishing with a 3.91 while working two jobs. She was awarded a variety of academic awards including regionally with College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, conference with an Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference selection and at the institution with the Eric Devan Outstanding Accounting Student Award and the Hood Athletics President’s Award for her excellence.
Julia Beck – Misericordia Soccer (MAC Freedom)
Beck claimed USC First-Team All-American honors and was named the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Year in 2024. She totaled seven goals and two assists for 16 points.  In the season prior, Beck was named the MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year. Beck is a four-time first-team All-MAC Freedom selection. 
Beck, a Physical Therapy major holds a 3.99 grade-point average and is expected to graduate in 2026. She was tabbed as the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-American of the Year and claimed CSC Academic All-American honors in 2024. She is a seven-time member of the Dean's List and was named the 2023-24 Misericordia Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

All conference nominees are forwarded to the Woman of the Year selection committee, which chooses the top 30 honorees—10 from each Division in October. From the top 30, the selection committee determines the top three nominees from each Division and announces the top nine finalists in November. The NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics then will choose the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year, who will be named in January at the 2026 NCAA Convention in Maryland.
