DeSales Women's Lacrosse Punches Ticket to MAC Freedom Finals With Dominant Win Over Lebanon Valley College

CENTER VALLEY, PA (April 29, 2026) -- The DeSales University women's lacrosse team downed the Lebanon Valley College Flying Dutchmen 18-11, advancing them to the MAC Freedom finals, for the first time in program history.  

The Basics  

  • Final Score: DeSales – 18, Lebanon Valley – 11 

  • Records: DeSales (13-5 overall, 7-1 MAC Freedom) Lebanon Valley (10-8 overall, 4-3 MAC Freedom) 

  • This is only the Bulldogs second time beating the Flying Dutchmen, the first being earlier in the 2025 season.  

  • This is the fifth time DeSales has made it to the MAC Freedom semi-finals, and the first year in program history that the Bulldogs are moving on to the finals, to compete for the MAC Freedom championship.  

How it Happened  

  • DeSales came out strong, with first-year Emily Mulroony winning the first draw control, running down the field and passing to fellow first-year Olivia Costa, who snuck one in, putting DeSales on the board first, in the first 40 seconds of the match up.  

  • The Flying Dutchmen responded quickly with two of their own man-up goals, giving them the advantage early in the first period.  

  • LVC had the chance to go up by another goal, during a free-position shot, but first-year goalkeeper, Larkin Trainor made an excellent save to keep the Bulldogs within one.  

  • Costa added her second to the evening, assisted by senior Christina DiGuglielmo to tie it up for DeSales with seven minutes left in the quarter.  

  • Lebanon Valley snuck in one more on the quarter, before DeSales added two of their own, from Danielle Sieja and a third from Costa as a free-position goal, ending the first 4-3, giving the Bulldogs the one goal advantage going into the second.  

  • DeSales scored the first goal of the second period, two minutes in, assisted by Sieja, scored by senior Bridey Lawler. The Bulldogs then went on a two-goal scoring streak, from Costa, and Emma Williamson.  

  • The Bulldogs defense was incredibly strong during the entire second, holding the Flying Dutchmen to just two goals the entire period, giving DSU a two goal, 7-5, advantage going into the half.  

  • The two teams continued to go back and forth the entire third period, with the first goal of the period, coming from Mulroony, assisted by DiGuglielmo, with LVC responding to the Bulldogs goal with one of their own. The second DeSales goal of the third period came from an unassisted goal from DiGuglielmo, before LVC went on a two-goal scoring streak.  

  • DeSales had the final goal of the quarter from Lawler, scoring with just ten seconds left, giving the Bulldogs a two-goal, 10-8, lead, heading into the final quarter.  

  • DeSales walked away from Lebanon Valley, early in the fourth with a seven goal scoring streak including, four from Lawler, one from Mulroony, and one from Sieja.  

  • The Flying Dutchmen responded two of their own, before the Bulldogs had one final man-up goal scored by Mulroony, assisted by Lawler, ending the game 18-11. 

Top Bulldog Performers  

  • Lawler led the team in points with eight from seven goals and one assist. Right behind her was Mulroony with seven points from three goals and four assists, she also contributed eight draw controls on the afternoon.  

  • Williamson ended the game with two cause turnovers, one draw control, one ground all and one goal.  

  • Cami Beetel led the team in ground balls with four, she also contributed two cause turnovers and one draw control on the evening.  

  • Trainor was excellent in goal, ending the evening with 11 saves.  

For the Foes  

  • Elizabeth Morgan led LVC in points with four from two goals and two assists, she also added one cause turnover for the Flying Dutchmen. 

  • Annelise Vetter led the defense with two cause turnovers and two ground balls.  

Inside the Box Score  

  • DeSales ended the afternoon with the 25-19 majority shots on goal, the Bulldogs also took the 11-8 majority saves. 

  • The Flying Dutchmen ended the game even with Bulldogs in draw controls with 16 each. 

  • DSU took the slim 18-15 majority in ground balls and went 17-for-19 on the clear.

  • The Bulldogs travel to Hoboken, New Jersey on Saturday for the MAC Freedom Finals, to take on the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks.
