York Women's Lacrosse Holds Off Stevenson in Commonwealth Semifinal 4/29/2026 11:48:00 PM Story Courtesy of York Athletics YORK, Pa. - The second-seed York women's lacrosse team prevailed, 9-7, over third-seed Stevenson in a Commonwealth Semifinal match at home on Wednesday night to advance to their sixth-straight Commonwealth Final. Team Records (3) Stevenson: 10-8 (2) York: 14-4 Highlights After the Spartans built up a 7-2 halftime lead, the Mustangs rallied back with a big third quarter in which they out-scored the Spartans, 4-1. Stevenson then cut the York lead to one with 10:43 left following a three-goal by Olivia Galati. The Spartan defense put a pause on Stevenson's momentum and forced three of the Mustang's next five turnovers. Spartan goalie Audrey Simoes also made a pair of big stops in the final four minutes to preserve the win and Abby Tartal sealed the victory with her goal with 2:20 remaining to put York up by two. Up Next The second-seed Spartans will travel to top-seed Messiah on Saturday to take on the Falcons for the Commonwealth title at 5 p.m.
