GRANTHAM, Pa. – Messiah University Athletics Department is officially announcing the addition to women's flag football as the 23rd varsity sport at Messiah starting in the spring of 2028. The Falcons are continuing a Nationwide search for the inaugural head coach of the program.
 
Women's flag football is a continued growing sport in College athletics with around 70 teams now competing at the DIII level with more being added each year. Women's flag football recently took another step forward in becoming a National Championship sport, with a vote expected in January of 2027, and if passed the first Championship taking place in the spring of 2028. Women's flag will also be an olympic sport in the Summer 2028 Olympic games.
