Soerens Sisters Qualify for NCAA National Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Women's Swimming) – Late Wednesday night, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the qualifiers for the 2024 Division III Swimming Championship in Greensboro, N.C. that will take place from Mar. 20-23. Among the 579 swimmers that qualified for the National Championships were Evangeline Soerens and Abigail Soerens. Both Abigail and Evangeline qualified for Nationals in the 200 Breaststroke, however each will be allowed to swim in two additional events while at the National Championships.
 
The Soerens sisters are just the third and fourth Falcons to qualify for the National Championships and the first since Kaitlin Wingert and Cassie Cotton competed in 2018.
 
Evangeline qualified for the 200 Breast as the 13th seed with a time of 2:18.22. In addition to her top event, Evangeline will compete in the 200 IM (60th, 2:19.91) and the 100 Breast (31st, 1:04.09).
 
Abigail qualified for the Championships in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:19.22 and currently sits as the 21st seed in the event. She will also complete in the 50 Free (56th, 25.23) and the 100 Breast (36th, 1:04.58).
 
A complete preview of the Division III National Championships will be released in the coming weeks. This year's National Championships will take place at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
