LEXINGTON, Ky. – On Tuesday afternoon, the American Volleyball Coaches Association named Matt Marshall as the NCAA Division III Assistant Coach of the Year. See below for what Head Coach Justin Beachy had to say about Matt and this honor.

Marshall helped Messiah reach the regional final of the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship. The Falcons were No. 2 in the March 10 and 17 AVCA Division III Polls, which marked the school's highest rank ever.

"Matt has been recognized throughout Division III Men's Volleyball as one of the most influential and impactful assistant coaches in the country." said Beachy. "His tireless work on the recruiting trail and in the gym have paid huge dividends for our program. As a part-time assistant, he's constantly poured more into our program than he's compensated for, and he's more than deserving of this award." Beachy added, "I couldn't be more grateful for Matt and all that he's given to our team over his nine years at Messiah."
