Three Falcons Named AVCA All-American

LEXINGTON, Ky. – On Monday afternoon, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 2026 All-American teams for Division III Men's Volleyball. Messiah earned three honors with Jake Eby and Alex Kagoro being named First Team and Brandon Sharp being named Second Team in the 22nd All-America selection.

The 2026 teams include 28 players – 14 each on the first and second teams – from 18 schools. New York University leads the way with four players on the two teams, and Carthage College, Messiah University, and Springfield College have three apiece.

Junior Jake Eby earned First Team All-American honors for the first time in his career after a strong season as one of the Falcons' Middle Hitters. Eby led the conference with a .426 hitting percentage, collecting 169 kills. He was fifth in the conference with 80 blocks and tied for second with .93 blocks per set. Eby's hitting percentage of .426 ranks ninth in the nation.

Senior Outside Hitter Alex Kagoro was named First Team All-American for the second season in a row after an outstanding senior campaign. Kagoro led the conference with 364 kills, averaging 4.79 per set, nearly a full kill ahead of second place. He has collected 408 points, averaging 5.37 per set, also nearly a full point ahead of second. Earlier this season, Kagoro tallied his 1,000th career kill as a Falcon. His 4.79 kills per set led Division III this season.

Junior Setter Brandon Sharp was named Second Team All-American for the second season in a row after leading the conference with 918 assists and 10.09 assists per set, 1.42 more assists per set ahead of the next highest. Setter notched his 2,000th career assist earlier this season. Sharp is fourth in the nation with 10.09 assists per set.
