2026 MAC Women's Lacrosse Championship Fields Announced

No. 16 Messiah (Commonwealth), No. 13 Stevens (Freedom) earn top seeds

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Women's Lacrosse) – The 2026 Middle Atlantic Conferences (MAC) women's lacrosse regular-season wrapped up on Saturday afternoon, finalizing the fields for the MAC Commonwealth and MAC Freedom Women's Lacrosse Championships. The tournaments are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, April 29. The two Conference Champions will earn automatic qualifiers into the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.

MAC Commonwealth
Messiah earned the top seed in the MAC Commonwealth field on the final day of the regular season. The Falcons finished the year with a perfect 7-0 MAC Commonwealth record (13-4 overall). They were ranked No. 16 in the most recent Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) NCAA Division III Poll and are in search of their first conference championship since 2021. Messiah will host one of the MAC Commonwealth Semifinals on Wednesday.

York, which was ranked No. 8 in the most recent IWLCA Poll, will be the No. 2 seed and the other semifinal host. The Spartans were 6-1 in MAC Commonwealth play (13-4 overall). Rounding out the tournament field are No. 3 seed Stevenson (5-2 MAC Commonwealth, 10-7) and No. 4 seed Widener (4-3 MAC Commonwealth, 10-7).

Semifinal 1 (April 29 at 5:00 PM):
 No. 4 Widener at No. 1 Messiah
Semifinal 2  (April 29 at 4:00 PM): No. 3 Stevenson at No. 2 York

The championship is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, hosted by the higher seed. The game time is still to be determined.

MAC Freedom
Stevens will be the No. 1 seed in the MAC Freedom Championship after compiling a perfect 7-0 MAC Freedom record (13-4 overall). The Ducks were ranked No. 13 in the most recent IWLCA NCAA Division III Poll and are hoping to retain the conference crown for the fifth year running. Their title defense starts with a hosting gig in the MAC Freedom Semifinals on Wednesday. 

Meanwhile, DeSales earned the No. 2 seed in this year's bracket with a 6-1 MAC Freedom record (12-5 overall). The Bulldogs are the other semifinal host. Joining the Ducks and Bulldogs in the tournament field are No. 3 seed Lebanon Valley (4-3 MAC Freedom, 10-7) and No. 4 seed Misericordia (4-3 MAC Freedom, 9-7).
