Center Valley, PA (May 1, 2026) - First-year
Kevin Brace hit a walk-off two-run home run completing an epic comeback leading to a 15-13 win in 12 innings in game one of the MAC Freedom Semifinal series with Stevens on Friday evening at Weiland Park.
The Bullodgs (30-11) win their 30th game for the first time since the 2013 season and the sixth time in program history. DSU takes a 1-0 lead in the weekend best-of-three series with the Ducks with game two and three (if necessary) slated for tomorrow at Weiland Park beginning at 1:00 pm.
Stevens took a 3-0 lead in this one in the top of the first inning but the Bulldogs countered with four tallies in the bottom of the second inning including a two-run double from senior
JT Anderosky and two-run home run from graduate student
Owen Fischl.
TIed at four, DSU took a 6-4 lead after a Duck error in the third and a solo home run from first-year
Dominic Berretta in the fourth inning.
Stevens took control from there scoring four times in the fifth, three times in the sixth, and once in the seventh to lead 12-6.
Fischl made it 12-7 with an RBI single and the Bulldogs tied the game in eighth with five runs including an RBI double from Anderosky, RBI single from Fischl, RBI double from Brace, and two-run tying home run from sophomore
Jacob Rivera.
Neither team scored in the ninth but the Ducks took a 13-12 lead in the 10th on a solo home run. DSU just refused to quit tying the game on a wild pitch with two outs and after both teams went scoreless in the 11th, the game advanced to the 12th inning.
In the top of the 12th, junior
Alex Crudder worked out of a jam stranding two runners on base and with two outs and a runner on first, Brace launched a two-run homer to left center that cleared the 375 sign by a good 15 feet for a no doubt about it walkoff bomb giving DSU the win.
Crudder earned the win with four clutch innings of relief allowing just one run and two hits, striking out four.
Anderosky finished 4-for-6 with two runs scored and three RBIs, Fischl was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Brace had two hits, three RBIs and two runs scored and Rivera had two hits and two RBIs.
Berretta and senior
John Rorick also contributed with two hits each and five total runs scored.
