Center Valley, PA (May 2, 2026) - The DeSales University baseball team rallied for a 16-8 win in game three of the three-game weekend series with Stevens in the MAC Freedom semifinals, securing a spot in next weekend's MAC Freedom Championship series.
The Bulldogs dropped game two of the series this weekend, 5-3, but rallied in game three to win 16-8, to earn a spot in the title series. DSU will host that championship series on Friday and Saturday next weekend, hosting the #3 seed Misericordia University, who won two games on Saturday to upset the #2 seed Arcadia University.
Game One (L/3-5)
This game was a pitchers duel thru seven innings as DSU clung to a 2-0 lead after a sacrifice fly from graduate student
Owen Fischl in the first inning and a solo home run from junior
Jack Sague in the fourth inning.
Stevens did all its scoring in the eighth, crossing home plate five times to take a 5-2 lead, and DSU was only able to get one run back, scoring once in the bottom of the eighth, as the Ducks forced a game three in the series.
Senior
Andrew McGowan was terrific on the mound tossing six shutout innings allowing just two hits and striking out seven. Anderosky had two of DSU's four hits in game two of the series.
Game Two (W/16-8)
This one was a slugest as DSU took a 2-0 lead with two sacrifice flies in the first and second inning.
The Ducks put up three runs in the third to take a brief 3-2 lead as the Bulldogs responded with nine runs in the bottom of the third inning to take control.
First-year
Dominic Berretta had an RBI single, Anderosky a bases clearing double, first-year
Kevin Brace an RBI single, and sophomore
Jacob Rivera a two-run home run as part of the nine run third.
Stevens did pull within 12-8 with two runs in the seventh, but DSU had the answer with four runs in the seventh to make it 16-8 and never looked back.
Anderosky finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and five RBIs. Rivera went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Senior
Bobby Dingell scored three runs, Berretta and junior
Owen Yoder each scored twice, and senior
John Rorick was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
Senior
Kyle Hart earned the win four strong innings of relief allowing three runs and striking out four.
