2015 MAC Men’s Tennis Individual Championship Set for Weekend

The conference championship will be held at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Men’s Tennis) –
The 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men’s Tennis Individual Championship is set for this weekend. King’s College and Wilkes University will host this year’s championship at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
 
Action is set to get underway on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 8:40 a.m. with the opening ceremony. However, there is a weather concern this weekend in Wilkes-Barre that may cause action to begin on Friday, Oct. 16. Any schedule changes will be announced Thursday evening after the coaches’ pre-championship meeting around 8 p.m.
 
Admission to the 2015 MAC Men’s Tennis Individual Championship is free and parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Ralston Field Complex. Long-sleeved white t-shirts with the championship logo will be for sale on site for $15 while supplies last. Programs will be free at the site of completion. Wilkes claimed six of the seven singles titles and three of the four doubles titles at the 2014 MAC Men’s Tennis Individual Championship. Wilkes’ Max Appello was crowned the No. 1 singles champion, while the Colonels’ Michael Kranz claimed the No. 2 singles title. The rest of the 2014 singles champions were as follows: No. 3 Adam Lefkandinos (Wilkes), No. 4 Brendon Blachowski (Wilkes), No. 5 Collin Strunk (Wilkes), No. 6 Artyom Nabokin (Wilkes) and No. 7 Austin Warren (Messiah).
 
Wilkes’ Dominic Parfianowicz and Jacob Parfianowicz claimed the No. 1 doubles title in 2014. The Colonels’ Appello and Troy Haas were No. 2 doubles champions. Wilkes’ Andrew Neidig and Nabokin claimed the No. 3 doubles title, while Messiah’s Warren and Joel Johnson were No. 4 doubles champions.
 
Wilkes leads the conference with 23 all-time singles champions and 15 all-time doubles champions at the conference individual championship.
