MAC announces six part speaker series for the fall semester for student-athletes

ANNVILLE, Pa. (Conference News) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) is proud to announce the #MACunited Speaker Series that will take place over the 2020 fall semester. The goal of the virtual programming is to enhance student-athletes' skills beyond their sports, focusing on topics that complement their athletic and academic pursuits.

The MAC has developed a six part virtual speaker series that will target initiatives outside of athletics to help develop student-athletes' skills and knowledge in areas related to voting, mental health, inclusion, finance, health and wellness, and life after athletics. The series will be presented as follows:

U - Uplifting Your Voice (Voting Initiative) (Sept. 28 - Oct. 2)
N - Normalize the Conversation Surrounding Mental Health (Oct. 12-16)
I - Inclusion and Social Justice (Oct. 26-20)
T - Thrifty Student-Athletes: Financial Skills for Life (Nov. 9-13)
E - Exercise and Eating During a Pandemic: Staying Healthy in a COVID World (Nov. 23-27)
D - Dear Real World, We're Ready: Life After Athletics (Dec. 7-11)

Student-athletes will have the opportunity to hear from professionals in the industry, coaches, and administrators and to connect through open discussions with speakers and fellow student-athletes related to these topics.

ABOUT THE MIDDLE ATLANTIC CONFERENCE
Located in Annville, Pa., the Middle Atlantic Conference is an NCAA Division III conference comprised of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) and Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom).

The MAC currently sponsors 27 intercollegiate sports that compete in the NCAA Division III. More than 7,000 student-athletes participate in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's golf, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's indoor track & field, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's outdoor track & field, softball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's volleyball and wrestling.
