Widener's Gabby Nye finishes first overall to claim her third individual title

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Women’s Cross Country) –  The Misericordia Cougars claimed their second-straight Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) women’s title on Saturday at Messiah University. The Pride's senior Gabby Nye won to give Widener their third individual title at the women’s championship.

Misericordia claimed the title with 50 points. Widener finished in second place with 73 points, and Lebanon Valley took third with 90 points. Messiah finished in fourth with 121 points, and Stevens rounded out the top-five with 125 points.

Nye won the 6K race in a time of 22:33.5. Misericordia's Grace Gallagher took second with a time  of 22:38.4, Ellie Kozich of DeSales finished third with a time of 22:47.4, Brianna Wagner of Misericordia took fourth with a time of 22:49.8, and Widener's Kathryn Long rounded out the top-five with a time of 22:55.9. 

Nye was awarded the 2024 MAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Year award for her individual title.
 
The 2024 MAC Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Year was awarded to DeSales' first year Ellie Kozich who finished 3rd. 
 
Misericordia head coach Chris Wadas was named the 2024 MAC Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.
