Albright Named Favorite in MAC Commonwealth Women's Tennis Coaches' Preseason Poll

The Lions collected four first-place votes from opposing coaches for a total of 24 points

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Women’s Tennis) – The Albright Lions were selected as the favorite to repeat as champions in the 2026 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth women’s tennis coaches. The Lions collected four first-place votes from opposing coaches for a total of 24 points. Messiah collected two first-place votes.

In 2025, Albright claimed back-to-back MAC Commonwealth titles with a 4-0 sweep over Messiah, finishing with a historic 17-0 record in the regular season. The Lions fell to New Paltz in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. 

The 2026 season is set to begin on Saturday, February 28. Conference play will start on Saturday, March 28 with a five game schedule.

The 2026 MAC Commonwealth Women's Tennis Championship is set for April 28 and May 2. The top-four seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
